2007-Nov-14 Two notable Fremonters
There are many citizens in Fremont who are active in local affairs. But I would like to give special mention to two whose activities reach beyond the town: Dan Itse and Peter Bearse.
Dan Itse is a state representative and the new political director of the New Hampshire Liberty Alliance. He is......
2007-Aug-21 The fight for public access cable in Fremont
I would like to salute the committee in charge of negotiating Fremont's upcoming contract with Comcast. This group, officially known as the Fremont Cable TV Contract Renewal Committee, but perhaps more efficiently described as the Fremont cable committee, is a group of ordinary Fremont citizens who have......
For those who missed the Cable committe meeting August 7th, here's the audio:
A selectman (woman, actually) from Sandown was there with lots of helpful advice, giving us some hints just how badly we've been screwed. Cathy Reardon from Rockingham News was also there.
Notably absent were Jay......
2007-Jul-31 Fremont cable committee meets Tues August 7th
Safety complex at 7:30PM. Public as always is encouraged to attend.
This committee is doing a fine job of bringing real public access TV to Fremont. Though they've only been tasked with negoitiating the new aggreement with Comcast, they've already gotten some tangible results. It's still mostly blue......
The Fremont Cable TV contract Renewal Committee is meeting Tuesday night 7:30PM at the Fremont Safety Complex. The public is strongly encouraged to attend. The future of public access TV is Fremont is at stake.

2007-Mar-14 A most eventful school district meeting.
It started out blandly enough, with special presentations by the kids and a chain made of construction paper. Then it got interesting.
First Peter Bearse ( .
The school board also complained that Mr. Bearse ought to have brought this up privately before the meeting, to avoid all this fuss. Later,......
2007-Mar-07 Joanne Sullivan pushes for gifted children program
You may have seen her letter in the latest Carriage Towne News. She also spoke at the school budget public meeting Tuesday, and again at the school board meeting later that night. I recorded both. They're available at:
Members gave her moral support, but were unwilling to push publicly for......
2007-Feb-11 Fremont citizens push back on school spending
Not yet an open revolt, but some pointed questions asked at the budget committee's public hearing. Peter Bearse, Brande McLean, myself and others expressed concerns about the lack of accountability, in particular the fact that contract negotiations with the teachers' union are closed to the public.
Brande......
Agenda:
Fremont Village District Ordinance review - some minor changes made.
Seacoast Farms complaints. Owner Robert Kelly was a no-show, deferral to May 10.
Site Plan review - Jeffrey and Angel Lesiczka
2006-Mar-21 Notes and audio from Fremont town meeting
(Also at )
There were no fewer than three contentious warrant articles. First, the bond for open space conservation barely managed the needed two-thirds majority, and there was a move to reconsider. Last, there was a long and boring back and forth over mosquito spraying. My laptop batteries ran......
Attendance was low, the SAU withdrawal and budget passed without controversy. The real fireworks were at the town meeting that evening. The audio this time turned out mostly decent.
2006-Mar-08 Fremont school district public forum
We got our questiones answered Tuesday on warrant articles 1 and 2. And there plenty of questions.
The issue with SAU withdrawal is the other towns are doing it, and if we don't do it we'll get saddled with the bill to run the school building and for the administrator salaries.
Warrant article......
2006-Mar-05 Audio of SB2 (absentee ballot) hearing
This is my first effort at audio blogging. I'm regretting my choice of mic and mic placement, but some post-production magic helped to make this audible. In the future I'll use a better mic.
There were six residents facing three selectmen. The residents disagreed amongst each other in a sometimes......
